3 Steps to make a Book in Minecraft
Needed materials:
- 3 Paper
- 1 Leather
1. Gather Materials
To make a book in Minecraft, you’ll need 3 paper and 1 leather. If you don’t already have those items, you’ll have to harvest sugar cane for the paper, and farming for leather.
Harvesting Sugar Cane for Paper
You’ll need to harvest sugar cane to craft and transform it into paper. Sugar cane commonly grows near water sources. You should head to a river, lake or ocean and break off some sugar cane to collect it. You’ll want to gather at least 3 pieces so you have enough to make at least one book.
Once you’ve collected sugar cane, head to the crafting menu and place 3 sugar canes in a horizontal row to create 3 pieces of paper
Hunting & farming for Leather
To get leather, you’ll have to kill cows, horses or llamas. If you want to find an alternative way to create leather, you can breed cows or horses and receive leather as a byproduct.
2. Open the crafting menu & add materials
In the 3x3 crafting grid, place the 3 pieces of paper in any vertical or horizontal row. Once placed, you can add in the leather material in any adjacent slot near the paper.
3. Move the Book to inventory
Now that you have your book, you’ll want to click and drag it into your inventory once it populates in the results box. After moving it to inventory, you’re done and free to use your newly created book however you see fit.
