Sensibilisation au cancer du sein : matchs à domicile et à l’extérieur

This is my story of how I've taken something that affected me personally and used that to bring change -- both home and away.

Accueil

Breast Cancer awareness is something that hits home for me, and I’ll take any and all opportunities to help raise awareness -- whether it’s in my personal life or in my career.

I lost my grandmother to the disease and other members of my family have been affected, but they were lucky enough to catch it in its tracks through regular checkups and early warning signs.

Away

Earlier in my career, I had the opportunity to raise awareness for a variety of community outreach campaigns and foundations through the companies I worked for, including everything from visiting children’s hospitals with MLB players and donating PlayStation consoles and games to raising awareness for Breast Cancer through some NFL players.

In my last position, we were creating custom cleats for players to help raise awareness for the brand and quickly turned the customization into a platform to grab the attention of fans and viewers of the NFL for a variety of charities and foundations, one of those being Breast Cancer Awareness.

Over the next couple of seasons, our custom cleats became part of the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” campaign, and we were able to collaborate with players to raise awareness for a bunch of charities and foundations, including:

Huddle up for life

Huddle Up for Life, an organization that funds colon cancer research. QB Dak Prescott lost his mom to colon cancer in 2013.

Midwest atheletes

Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC with Aaron Rodgers)

Von's Vision

Von's Vision, Miller's charity that gives glasses to children in need

These custom cleats then opened the doors to help create custom cleats for players to wear for the NFL’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign.

So when a friend and colleague reached out to me and let me know that the President of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) was a gamer and there might be an opportunity to collaborate, it was the perfect opportunity to rally the troops and continue to raise awareness with a SteelSeries campaign to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Your purchases of a Nova Booster Pack, PBT Keycaps, PrismCaps, a QcK mousepad, and more, all in Bright Pink help toward the cause. Pair them up with your current or future gear to represent awareness and donate funds at the same time.

The National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation has been helping women for over 30 years, embarking on a mission to provide help and education to those affected by breast cancer. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with the disease, and there is no known cure at the moment. Early diagnosis is crucial, which is why the organization offers free and innovative programs to help.

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer death rates declined by 42% from 1989 to 2021, largely due to early detection and treatments. Join the fight to raise more awareness with SteelSeries & the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
